Bargain Christmas trees!
December 9, 2009
Lat year I searched and searched for a decent christmas tree and because I was so picky, I ended up waiting too late and there were only trees over 50 pounds or from the pound shop. The ones that were 50 pounds didn't seem worth the price at all and needless to say the pound shop ones looked like sticks you'd used to beat something. We ended up with an overdressed stick at the end of the day just to have something to make the house feel christmasy (honestly all you could see is tinsel and baubles to hide the horrible tree underneath).
So this year decide to think about things early and rather than being picky we went for the Argos bargain christmas tree for less than a tenner. To be honest when buying it the sales people themselves put you off because they are required to tell you that if you don't like it you can't bring it back, as though they are expecting you to not to like it. BUT when I got home and put up the tree I was pleasantly surprised and it was full and looked much nicer, regarding shape and fullness, than most of the christmas trees that they are selling there for 30 pounds or more. I obviously had all the christmas decorations that I needed from last year's adventure. However we still made more from old cards and shiny wrapping paper.
Zane has also really enjoyed putting it up and decorating it with his own decorations. But I'm still wondering what happened to the blank patches at the bottom of the tree where the baubles have magically disappeared!
Alternatively if that is even too much for you, you could opt for the following. Just save your beer bottles for the year and then on christmas day hey ho!
